Now I’m achieving around 85-90% in each assessment, and
I'm currently ranked #1 in my cohort for Maths.

Andy, Year 12, English, Maths & Legal Studies, 2024 (Google Review)

I have been with MSL for about a year and a half now, since I was in Year 11.

Now that I’m in Year 12, the biggest change I’ve noticed since joining MSL is my assessment results.

Before joining, I was getting around 50-60% in Legal, English and Maths. Now I’m achieving around 85-90% in each assessment, and am currently ranked #1 in my cohort for Maths.

(continued...)

I really like the weekly homework that is given as it forces me to make time for my studies on days when I'm not particularly productive. I also like the regular feedback that is given to me about my work, which is often specific so I understand exactly where I need to improve.

For anyone considering tutoring or joining MSL, I think it is best to join as early as possible, particularly for those that have never been tutored before, like myself. This ensures that both the tutor and you have sufficient time to prepare for any assessments or exams.

(continued...)

You can also gain many study tips which are very helpful, such as taking a break, which I often forget when I am stressed.

I learned that in year 12, it is impossible to get everything done as there is just not enough time, so I should aim to finish the tasks that will actually help me. I think this was very helpful especially when I was feeling very overwhelmed with school work and other commitments.

Make sure you aren't afraid to join and try tutoring! I'm confident that it will be able to help you.

We couldn't be more thrilled with the progress we've witnessed
in his English, Maths and Legal Studies results during this time.

Exceptional Tutoring Experience with MS Learning: A Parent's Review

My son, who is currently in Year 12, has been under the guidance of MS Learning for approximately a year and half now, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the progress we've witnessed in his English, Maths and Legal Studies results during this time.

(continued...)

What sets MS Learning apart is their personalized approach to tutoring. Unlike other tutoring services, MS Learning takes the time to truly understand my son's unique learning style and tailor their teaching methods accordingly.

[The teaching approach] is not just about imparting knowledge but fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Regular feedback sessions have been invaluable in keeping us updated on my son's progress and identifying areas that need improvement.

(continued...)

Since joining MS Learning, I have seen a significant improvement in my son's abilities. His confidence in tackling academic challenges has soared, and this newfound confidence is reflected in his work and assessment results.

MS Learning has not only helped my child improve academically but has also instilled a sense of self-assurance and determination.

(continued...)

One of the specific things our child found helpful with MS Learning is the emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

[MSL] goes beyond rote learning and encourages our child to think analytically, which has proven to be immensely beneficial not only in academics but also in real-life situations.

(continued...)

For parents considering tutoring or joining MS Learning, my advice would be to look no further. MS Learning goes above and beyond to ensure the success of their students.

In conclusion, I am incredibly grateful to MS Learning for the positive impact they've had on my son's academic journey.

Their commitment to excellence and personalized approach makes them stand out as the premier choice for tutoring services.

The most impressive change is not the results on exams,
but our son’s confidence to apply his mathematical knowledge
when engaging in problem solving.

Chrissy, Parent (Year 8), Maths, 2024 (Google Review)

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

Our son, Joey, has engaged in Maths support through MSL for approximately 2 years, since he was in Year 6. What we really like about MSL is that the learning is tailored to our son’s needs, ensuring content aligns with what he is studying at school.

Additionally, the tutor has worked closely with our son to determine gaps from school-based assessments that can be worked on. This has allowed our son to build confidence and self-efficacy in mathematics, ultimately showing confidence in the classroom and with his homework.

(continued...)

For us, the most impressive change is not the results on exams, but our son’s confidence to apply his mathematical knowledge when engaging in problem solving.

Prior to starting with MSL, our son was not confident, resulting in a slow start to engaging in mathematics learning and also not finishing tasks within an appropriate time frame. Now, displaying more confidence with mathematics, our son engages in learning with enthusiasm as he is learning what tools are required for each task.

(continued...)

To any other parents considering joining MSL - If you feel that your child is experiencing a lack of confidence in mathematics, it is always best to begin with early intervention.

I ranked number #1 in my cohort for English Advanced
at Sydney Girls Selective High School.

Ella, Year 11, English, 2023

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

MS Learning runs very personal lessons, where the teacher understands my strengths and weaknesses well.

I like that my needs are addressed very directly and effectively, and my teacher gives me specific, extensive feedback on my work every lesson before we improve it together.

This ensures that I constantly produce quality work and that my skills are consistently advancing and improving.

(continued...)

What differentiates MS Learning from other tutoring centres is that we analyse and cover full novels, rather than only short texts or snippets of a novel. By doing this, we are able to practice writing full essays that simulate the essay exams we receive at school.

Another aspect I like is that lessons follow the structure of creative writing, essay writing and short text analysis. Since these three components are the foundation of school-based assessments and the Year 12 HSC exams, I like that the work I'm doing will prove useful for school.

(continued...)

Even before MSL, I was still achieving high marks in school. However, once I joined, I was able to apply the teaching easily to my assessments and consistently keep up the high marks.

These were my school results for Year 11:

  • 17/20 in Term 2 (2022) - Essay
  • 20/20 in Term 3 (2022) - Essay
  • 20/20 in Term 4 (2022) - Poetry
  • 20/20 Term 4 (2022) - Creative Writing

After sitting my final Year 11 exams, I ranked number #1 in my cohort for English Advanced at Sydney Girls Selective High School.

The teachings from MSL and my tutor's dedicated effort definitely contributed to my achievements this year and will continue to support me in my Year 12 studies.

I have gotten straight A+ results for English
and 80-90% for Maths assessments...
my abilities have definitely improved.

Jasia, Year 9, English & Maths, 2023

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

I have been with MSL for almost a year and found that the tutor's approach in teaching is different but very effective as it isn't just one straight meeting of the tutor talking endlessly.

I have time to attempt different tasks and questions on my own so I can gain confidence in my own abilities. Then, the tutor will work through it with me and give me detailed feedback so I know how to improve.

(continued...)

For English, a lot of the essay writing I have been learning at MSL has been really helpful (and much clearer) compared to what is taught by my school or other tutors I’ve had.

For example, MSL has taught me how to deeply analyse quotes and raise complex arguments in my essays about human nature and the human condition.

(continued...)

For Maths, the variety and multitude of resources MSL has provided has been especially useful when learning new topics or preparing for exams.

In each lesson, the tutor thoroughly goes through the content and explains formulas and strategies for different types of questions.

(continued...)

I then get to practice applying what I’ve learnt to questions of all difficulties so that I have the confidence and a thorough understanding of the subject when approaching it at school or in school assessments.

The tutor is also very helpful with any questions I have from my homework or schoolwork, and there are revision tests and quizzes at the end of each topic to test our knowledge.

(continued...)

I have gotten straight A+ results for all of my English assessments this year (we aren’t given a specific mark for English) and 80-90% for my Maths assessments so my abilities have definitely improved.

I can comprehend and easily navigate school assessments now as I am more prepared for them and not scared by any harder or new work. It is also easier to stay consistent with my Maths and English practice because of the MSL homework I am given each week.

Looking back on last year, I definitely feel a change
in my analysis and overall writing that
I wouldn’t have achieved without tutoring.

Sophie, Year 9, English, 2023

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

I’ve been at MS Learning for nearly a year now (since I was in Year 8). I like the way our class is structured as it’s a private class with only two of us and the tutor. I feel like I can focus better in this more personalised environment, which I don’t often see in most coaching centres.

I also like how we do more analysis and in-depth studies of texts for essays than what I normally do in school as I feel like the content I study in school doesn’t really help me improve my analysis skills and prepare for upcoming assessments.

(continued...)

I don’t feel very confident with my English skills so far, and I do feel like there is much improvement to be done, also considering compared to a lot of my peers in my year, I feel average. However, looking back on last year I definitely feel a change in my analysis and overall writing that I wouldn’t have achieved without tutoring.

A specific thing that I find helpful about MSL is regularly having some sort of guide and an exemplar piece to sort of show me what is expected to get a good mark. I also appreciate having a wide range of texts and text types (e.g. poems, images, different types of assessment questions) to practise on as it helps me learn how to adapt and change my analysis.

Since joining MSL, my English assessment marks
have increased to around 80-90% each term.

Andy, Year 11, English, 2023

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

Overall, I am very happy with MSL. I have been with MSL since November of 2022, a total of 9 months so far. I like many things about MSL. Specifically, I like how my tutor always approaches classes with an optimistic attitude and keeps it up for the entirety of the lesson. I really like this aspect about her as it gives me the energy to do well and not be too tired in the lessons.

MSL is the first tutoring experience I have had but based on what my friends say about their tutors, I feel MSL is pretty good in comparison. Additionally, I'm also really fond of how the homework isn't overwhelming like other tuitions and can be completed with a reasonable amount of time.

(continued...)

I have found everything that MSL has taught me incredibly helpful. However, if I had to be specific, I particularly benefited from the additional study tips given to me, like how to memorise information and how to not procrastinate.

Currently, I can definitely say I feel more confident than when I first started English tutoring. I have been able to apply what I have learnt with MSL to my schoolwork in things such as analysis, creative writing, and essay writing. Particularly, in my second assessment of Term 2, I received very positive feedback from my teacher in regards to my analysis skills. Since joining MSL, my English assessment marks have increased to around 80-90% each term.

I am confident that MS Learning is
the right choice for Sara. The rigour of the program and
quality of the tutor is exactly what she needed.

Tina, Parent (Year 7), English, 2022

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

The MS Learning approach has been pragmatic, practical and has held Sara accountable which is exactly what we were looking for, and is the method that Sara best responds to.

Lessons and homework are well structured and on point with what she needs to both correct any problems and to prepare her for future skill requirements. Feedback is clear, honest and concise and allows us to accurately assess what Sara’s progress and future needs are.

(continued...)

I am confident that MS Learning is the right choice for Sara. The rigour of the program and quality of the tutor is exactly what she needed.

Sara is now feeling far more confident with respect to English. In a recent grammar quiz she scored 100% for the first time and she has been successfully utilising the planning strategy she has learnt outside of the classroom during debating training and competitions.

I have only attended one term so far
but I am surprised at how much I still have to learn.

Lorain, Year 12, Legal Studies, 2022

(click the arrows to navigate between slides)

The lessons have been very helpful. I previously didn’t have a very concrete way to study for legal but now with MS learning, I have been able to grow in my skills and be more motivated to study.

Learning about essay structuring has been especially helpful - I have learned that I have a tendency of just reciting content and failing to make effective analysis. Now, with the structure that MSL has given me, I am now able to make concise and somewhat skillful analyses.

(continued...)

MSL has shown me that I have gaps in some areas of my notes, and I need to be more concise when writing as I tend to ‘waffle on’.

I now find myself really enjoying Legal topics like International Crime and Human Rights. I have only attended one term so far, but I am surprised at how much I still have to learn.
